Daoiri Farrell confirms September live date for Lee's Bar Tullamore
Award winning singer and bouzouki player Daoirí Farrell brings his live show to John Lee’s Bar Tullamore on Sunday, September 21.
Farrell, who has won two prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and received four nominations in Ireland’s RTÉ Folk Awards, will be joined at the Tullamore venue for a special guest performance from local musician Hubert Murray.
Farrell has toured the world as guest vocalist for Lúnasa, while his fourth album ‘The Wedding Above In Glencree’, recorded with Trevor Hutchinson of The Waterboys/Lunasa, received positive comment from Folk Radio UK who said the singer 'has the best Irish traditional voice currently around; if there’s better, I’ve yet to hear it.’
Farrell has also received endorsements from the likes of Christy Moore (‘Daoirí has assumed the mantle of Luke Kelly’), Mark Radcliffe (‘What a voice’) and Dónal Lunny (‘Daoirí is one of the most important traditional singers to emerge in the last decade’), with his music and live performances earning the acclaim of respected publications.
