Dunne claims top 20 finish in F1 practice session at Monza

Offaly's Alex Dunne had a 16th place finish in his second Formula 1 practice session at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza today (Friday).

Driving for McLaren, the Clonbollogue native was unable to repeat his fourth place practice session finish achieved at the Austrian Grand Prix but gained more valuable time at the highest level of international motor racing.

Dunne's attention will now return to matters Formula 2 on Sunday as he aims to climb the rankings in this year's Drivers' Championship.

Having placed ninth at the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest, Dunne remains in firm contention for the Formula 2 Drivers' Championship, but is 30 points adrift of competition leader Leonardo Fornaroli with four rounds of this year's competition remaining.
