Ferbane man joins UK championship club Wrexham
Ferbane native Reuben Egan has teamed up with Wrexham FC, the club of Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in the English Championship.
Egan, a 20-year-old goalkeeper, has signed a six-month contract with Wrexham FC, the club owned by the actors, which has made a stunning ascent through English football, having sealed two successive promotions.

Egan said: “It’s a really good club to be at. The way it’s been the last couple of years, it’s an ideal place to be for a young player like myself.
“The trajectory of the club is record-breaking, it’s amazing, it just makes it an ideal place to come and grow as a player.
“I’m still quite early in my career, I still have a lot to learn, but I have some great lads to learn from here – it’s a great group to be in as a young goalie and I’m really looking forward to getting to work.”
Manager Phil Parkinson said: “We’d like to welcome Reuben to the club. We’ve been looking for a goalkeeper in the U21 age bracket, and we’re looking forward to him joining us."
