Walsh "living her dream" as she wins opening World Championship bout

Tullamore boxer Gráinne Walsh said she was "living her dream" following her World Boxing Championships unanimous decision win over Slovakia's Jessica Triebelova.

Walsh dominated the round of 32 bout and returns to the boxing ring on Monday evening where she will face Spain's Mariana Soto Torres in the last 16, before a potential medal bout in the quarter finals on Wednesday next.

Speaking in the aftermath of her victory (which you can hear below), Walsh said that the "first fight" of any competition "can be daunting" but added that she was proud of her performance.

"It is a privilege to be here living my dream and if I can bring the best version of Gráinne Walsh to the ring then I believe I am up there with the best," Gráinne said.
