Meet Bruce from Daingean, who at just 8 years of age, has completed more than 50 parkruns.

When did you first complete a parkrun?

I completed my first parkrun in April 2024. It was a big and very exciting day.

What is your favourite thing about parkrun?

My favourite thing is at the end when you cross the line, you just feel so good.

How does it feel to have reached the significant milestone of 50 parkruns?

It is amazing. Some of my family members came and ran it as well.

Have you done any parkruns in other locations?

Yes, I have done parkruns in lots of other places such as Tullamore, Mullingar, Vicarstown, Athlone and Kilcock, but I have done most of my parkruns at Mountlucas parkrun.

What is your favourite parkrun memory?

My favourite parkrun memory is when my little brother Ruben did his first ever parkrun and he got a pretty good time.

What words best describe Mountlucas parkrun?

Fun, enjoyable and friendly.

Mountlucas parkrun takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp. It is a free, weekly, timed 5km event where walkers, joggers and runners of all abilities are welcome. Newcomers are always welcome!
