'Rambling House' event to support Offaly Carers
When Offaly Older Person's Network hosted their first Rambling House event in 2023 to mark Positive Ageing Week, the formula proved to be so successful that they have repeated these enjoyable social get togethers ever since.
With this year's Positive Ageing Week due to take place across the country all next week, the local group will once again host an evening of music, song, stories and plenty of craic at their latest Rambling House night in Tullamore Rugby Club on Thursday night next, October 2.
The aim of the Rambling House night is to recreate the old rambling house where people spent time in each other's company while enjoying music, song, stories and craic.
Next week's Rambling House night in Tullamore kicks off at 7.30pm, and admission is €10 per person, with all proceeds going directly to Offaly Family Carers. A wide range of musicians and entertainers have expressed an interest in being part of the proceedings, so a great night of entertainment is guaranteed for all.
Anyone wishing to book a ticket for the Rambing House in Tullamore Rugby Club on Thursday night next is asked to contact Molly 087 2914302, Frances 086 1261887, Alice 086 3763084, Ann 086 3081706 or Declan at 087 6991226. Tickets will also be available on the door.
The theme of Positive Ageing Week 2025 is celebrating the power of connection across the generations. Ageing well isn’t just about living longer — it’s about living better, with meaning, joy, and a sense of belonging. One of the most powerful ways to achieve that is through intergenerational connections. When older and younger generations come together, something magical happens. For over 20 years individuals, groups, local authorities and businesses have been organising events to mark Positive Ageing Week.
Offaly Older Person’s Network have always played an important role in Offaly Positive Ageing Week and this year it is delighted to once again play its part in celebrating the positive role of older people in society.
