Tullamore Credit Union's Pride in your Place presentations
The Tullamore Credit Union Pride in your Place presentation of awards event took place recently in Esker Arts Centre Tullamore.
The Credit Union said it was fantastic to see so many members coming together to celebrate their involvement in making their local areas a wonderful place to be.
The event was opened by CEO Paul Shaw, who invited Cllr John Leahy, Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council, to the podium. John spoke of the fantastic power of the community coming together for the greater good.
He commended the credit union as an example of how this community power can be harnessed and mentioned the recent launch of the credit union’s Aided Home Improvement Loan, a new loan product which can support adaptation grants which may be available from local councils.
John McNally, Climate Action coordinator with Offaly County Council, spoke of the many new and innovative schemes being reviewed by the council.
He referenced Tullamore, as the designated Decarbonising Zone for Offaly. He spoke passionately about the potential that this designation would have for the town and its future, acting as a testbed of actions in various areas, including biodiversity, air quality, waste management and community activation.
Deputy CEO Caroline Collins-Murphy announced the winners of the awards, and the event concluded with the presentations of plaques and prizes over various
