Offaly to celebrate 19th annual Hullabaloo! Children’s Arts Festival
Offaly’s children’s arts festival, Hullabaloo!, will mark its 19th year this mid-term break with four days of creativity, imagination and family fun across the county.
Running from Wednesday, October 29, to Saturday, November 1, the festival brings more than 90 workshops, performances and family events to Birr, Clara, Edenderry, Tullamore, and Kilcormac.
Founded at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre, Hullabaloo! has grown from a local event into a county-wide celebration that continues to give children under 12 the chance to explore and create through the arts. From painting, drama and dance to storytelling, puppetry and traditional music, there’s something for every young imagination.
Festival founder Emma Nee Haslam said: “It’s amazing to see how Hullabaloo! has grown while staying true to its Offaly roots. Children across the county are discovering their creativity under the guidance of professional artists. That’s what it’s all about.”
Highlights this year include Frank ’n’ Stein’s Teddy by Barking Dog Theatre, the spectacular Escape from the Bubble Tub, and TRADabaloo!, a lively celebration of Irish music for young audiences.
Hullabaloo! is coordinated by Birr Theatre & Arts Centre and Esker Arts, with support from Offaly County Council Arts Office, Offaly Library Services, Creative Places Edenderry, and local community partners.
Tickets are available now at www.HullabalooFestival.ie, and early booking is advised.
