Alex Dunne to attend Kilcormac jobs unveiling
Offaly's Formula 2 racing star, Alex Dunne, is due to be in Kilcormac on Monday for an announcement of five new tech jobs.
Offaly-based company Rhomu Ltd, working in collaboration with Dublin-based Anitech Solutions, is establishing a new account executive team in Kilcormac.
Initially, five jobs will be created, supported by Rhomu's local operations team. With this launch, both companies hope to inspire other technology firms to follow suit — with a shared goal of creating up to 30 skilled jobs in Kilcormac over the next two to three years.
Anitech Solutions is the technology company behind the innovative digital engagement platform Tapybl, while Rhomu is an Irish consulting and outsourcing firm specialising in finance operations.
Supported locally by Offaly County Council Cathaoirleach John Leahy and the local community centre, the partnership between the two companies has been described as a practical example of how high-tech businesses can breathe new life into rural towns affected by the decline of traditional industries like Bord na Móna.
Alex Dunne, proudly sponsored by Tapybl, is to attend the announcement event to lend his support to the initiative and highlight how Offaly talent can compete, and win, on the global stage.
CEO of Anitech Solutions Andrew Nolan said: “The launch of Tapybl marks a really exciting step for us. It’s a platform designed to help brands connect with audiences in new and more engaging ways — something we believe is increasingly important in today’s digital landscape.
“Partnering with Alex Dunne as a Tapybl ambassador has been a natural fit. He represents innovation, focus, and Irish ambition on the world stage — values that mirror what Tapybl is all about. We’re also proud that this next phase of our growth will see new jobs created in Kilcormac through our partnership with Rhomu.”
CEO of Rhomu Ltd Mike Barnes said: “We want to thank Andrew and the team at Anitech for placing their trust in us and choosing Kilcormac as the home for this new chapter.
“This partnership embodies what we set out to achieve with our ESG commitments — bringing sustainable, skilled employment and investment into rural communities. While five jobs is just the beginning, our vision is to see Kilcormac evolve into a vibrant hub for digital and financial services firms in the Midlands. We also want to thank Cllr John Leahy for his continued support.”
Cllr John Leahy added: “This is a brilliant day for Kilcormac and for Offaly. For too long, towns like ours have seen opportunities move elsewhere. Anitech and Rhomu are proving that small companies, with the right support, can make a big difference. We’ll keep working together to bring more employers here.”
