On your marks, get set, BRAKE: 'Bake-off' inspired post by Laois Offaly Garda Division goes viral

A post by Laois Offaly Garda Division, which took inspiration from The Great British Bake Off, has gone viral online, after a driver was caught 165km/h, and then discovered they had no insurance, were an unaccompanied learner, and even had a live arrest warrant.

The update was issued after Laois Roads Policing Unit stopped a yellow reg BMW speeding at 165 km/h along the M7 on Saturday, October 11.

"This driver was well and truly baked," the post quipped, noting that a roadside DrugWipe came back positive for both Cannabis and Opioids.

The driver was brought in front of a judge in Tullamore on Sunday, October 12.

"Results of taking the biscuit: Driver arrested, charged and given an overnight stay in the much less comfortable Garda tent before being brought in front a different type of Judge in Tullamore this morning. Vehicle whisked away (on the back of a tow truck)."
