Gardai seek witnesses to Banagher road incident

Gardaí in Birr are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Banagher on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened on the Banagher side of Taylors Cross at approximately 1.38pm on Wednesday, October 15.

"During the incident, a piece of timber fell from a passing lorry, striking the windscreen of an oncoming van and causing significant damage. Thankfully, no injuries were reported," a Garda statement said.

Gardaí are seeking to identify the lorry involved and are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling in the area at that time to come forward. In particular, anyone with dashcam footage from the route between Banagher and Taylors Cross is asked to make contact.
