Offaly Society of New York make donation to Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund

The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund committee have extended "a heartfelt thank you" to the Offaly Society of New York who have made a recent donation of $10,000 to their cause.

In a social media post, the committee thanked all the "incredible people involved at the Offaly Society of New York for their amazing support in memory of Ashling" following their recently hosted golf event in the US city.

"On August 29, the Offaly Society of New York hosted a fantastic golf event with approximately 110 golfers and a number of generous sponsors.

"As a result of this tremendous event, the generosity of others and the efforts made by the organising committee, a staggering $10,000 was raised.

"This funding will go a long way in honouring Ashling’s memory and making a positive impact in our community, as did the funding received from last year’s event.

"A special thanks to committee member, Alan Gleeson and family, who were home recently and presented the proceeds to Ashling’s father, Ray.
