Jordan Conroy to co-present new feel-good teen docuseries

Tullamore native Jordan Conroy makes a return to television screens as co-presenter of United FC, a brand-new, feel-good teen docuseries kick-starting crucial conversations across Ireland.

Commissioned by RTÉ KIDS and filmed in the summer, the series premieres on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player at 5.30pm on Thursday, November 13, with new episodes dropping weekly until December 18.

United FC brings together 15 teenagers from diverse Irish backgrounds for the ultimate team challenge. Part coming-of-age story, part football camp, this thought-provoking series follows these teens as they meet, train and form lasting bonds in the run-up to a soccer tournament.

Conroy is one of Ireland’s most electrifying rugby talents, recently retiring after a stellar career as a winger with the Ireland National Rugby Sevens team.

A two-time Olympian, he brings his trademark energy, empathy and leadership to United FC, guiding the teens through challenges on and off the pitch.

Conroy has previously appeared on RTE programmes 'Dancing with the Stars', 'Man Up?' and Celebrity Pulling with My Parents'.

Prior to the first episode of the series Conroy said it was the show's concept which attracted him to the role of co-presenter.

"We all shared something in common - having different backgrounds yet living in similar types of communities. In today’s society, that can be a very sensitive subject.

"We have 15 different individuals coming together through sports, which is incredibly important. Sports can be used for so many positive things - not just for physical health, but also for building understanding and connection. I think it’s important to lead with kindness.

"The kids showed a lot of kindness towards one another, and that’s what brought them so close. The big lesson is that it doesn’t matter where you come from, what skin colour you have, or what language you speak," Conroy said.

Conroy will co-present the six part series with the recent winner of The Traitord Ireland, content creator and footballer Vanessa Ogbonna.
