Saipan stars to appear on Late Late
Actors Steve Coogan and Éanna Hardwicke will be on the Late Late Show this week to talk about their starring roles in Saipan, the highly anticipated film revisiting the infamous 2002 World Cup bust-up between Ireland manager Mick McCarthy and star player Roy Keane. The pair will share how they prepared to step into the shoes of two of the most talked-about figures in Irish sporting history.
Patrick will sit down with Kieran Cuddihy ahead of his debut as the new host of RTÉ Radio 1’s Liveline next Monday, as the show prepares to celebrate 40 years on air. Viewers will get the chance to get to know the man behind the mic, as Kieran will reflect on growing up in Kilkenny, his career to date and what it means to him to take over from Joe Duffy on one of Ireland’s most iconic radio shows.
Holly Cairns, leader of the Social Democrats, will join Patrick in studio to discuss the current political landscape, the challenges facing the left opposition and her vision for Ireland’s future. She’ll also share her take on the week in politics, including the fallout from the presidential election.
Singer-songwriter Nell Mescal will take to the Late Late Show stage with a live performance of her brand-new single. Nell will also chat with Patrick about her upcoming headline tour, her rapid rise in the music world and the encouragement she receives from her brother, actor Paul Mescal.
Comedian and all-round gasman Jarlath Regan will be in studio to talk about how he is an expert in spotting a gobshite and how Irishisms continue to inspire his comedy.
One lucky child will have their dream come true live on air, as they discover they’ll be performing in this year’s Late Late Toy Show. And that’s not all, as there’s even more BIG news in store for Toy Show fans…
