Three Offalians have become members of An Garda Síochána

Three Offaly people have become members of An Garda Síochána at a graduation ceremony which took place in Templemore last Friday.

The Offalians were among 194 Garda recruits who graduated at a ceremony at the Garda Training College on Friday, November 14.

Locals included Mark Grennan to be stationed in Dundrum, Ciaran O'Sullivan to be stationed in Carlow, and Shane Coughlan to be stationed in Waterford.

Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan and Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly were in attendance, as well as Taoiseach Micheal Martin, and family members of the new gardaí.
