Council to hold sustainable festive toy play and swap event
Families across Offaly have been invited to take part in a fun and eco-friendly Circular Christmas Swap and Play event at Tullamore GAA Club on Saturday, December 6.
The free event will take place from 11am-2pm providing children and families with the opportunity to swap pre-loved toys, engage in play, and learn about sustainability.
The event is designed to promote toy reuse, reduce waste, and encourage circular economy principles in communities. Attendees are welcome to bring up to five gently used toys to swap or simply take home pre-loved toys without bringing any.
Event highlights will include a toy swap and play zone where children can bring up to five toys (in good condition) and explore a variety of pre-loved toys available to take home.
An eco tattoo station will provide fun for children and adults, while families can share their wishes for the future under the wishing Christmas tree.
An eco-crafting corner will allow children to show their creative side as they upcycle crafts with a Christmas theme, a teddy bear hub allowing children to bring their Teddy for check-ups and cuddle prescriptions.
There will also be time for a Christmas jumper swap with festive cookies available to all families.
This event is open to all families with children aged 0–12 years of age.
Registration is available via Eventbrite :
This event is sponsored by Offaly County Council Community & Culture Department, Climate Action Team and Integration Team and supported by our Just Transition Officer.
