Offaly councillor gifts toys to parents in need for second consecutive Christmas

An Offaly councillor has taken the initiative to gift toys to parents in need for the second consecutive Christmas.

Sinn Fein's Cllr Aoife Masterson said she will have 'a small selection of toys' available in her office at Kilbride Plaza, Kilbride St, Tullamore, R35 K4A4 from Friday (November 28).

"Any parent who needs something to put under the tree this year is welcome to pop in and take one, no questions or explanations," said Cllr Masterson.

Masterson opened her office in Tullamore in November of 2024, and noted she aimed to provide a " warm and inviting" space for the community to come for advice, information, and support.

"Even in this short time, things have become increasingly difficult for people across our community. Christmas will only make this more difficult," she added.

Those who would like to donate, can drop a new or unwanted present in to Masterson's office, which will then be put under the tree. Alternatively, you can donate to her go fund me, and she will purchase the presents and place them under the tree.
