‘Christmas Unwrapped’ is coming to Esker Arts Centre for two sold-out performances this month.

'Christmas Unwrapped' show in Tullamore is a sell-out success

The sold-out annual Christmas performance by members of the Tullamore Stage School, which takes place over two nights this month, promises to again capture the imagination of spectators at Esker Arts Centre.

The 'Christmas Unwrapped' show, performed by 150 junior, senior and ladies' choir members of Regina McCarthy's Stage School, is now in its fifth year and offers something for all the family ranging from well-known Christmas carols to choral singing, instrumentals and dance.

This year's show sold out in a matter of hours, said the shows' organiser and director Regina McCarthy, who is also a former music teacher at the Sacred Heart School in Tullamore. “We are all looking forward to these two sold-out shows,” she said.

“There's a lot of work and preparation that goes into the production, and we are very thankful to everyone who purchased tickets to come along.

“Christmas Unwrapped is a great family show with a wide variety of performances and we think people will really enjoy the entertainment.”

The cast of ‘Christmas Unwrapped’ is drawn from members of Tullamore Stage School, with its youngest performer aged just six.

"We have three successful choirs for juniors, seniors and ladies, and when they come together to collaborate for ‘Christmas Unwrapped’ it really is something special,” Regina said.

Regina wanted to pay tribute to the 150 people involved in this year's production, describing the show as a “real team effort”.

“A lot of time and effort goes into it, but we like hard work at the Dance School and are delighted with the end product. We are really excited to show people what we have to offer,” she said.

The sold-out shows take place at Esker Arts Centre in Tullamore on Monday and Tuesday, December 15 and 16, commencing at 8pm.
