Offaly Christmas Shoebox Appeal donates over 3,590 gifts to children in need

The 2025 Offaly Christmas Shoebox Appeal has officially wrapped up, with an impressive 3,596 shoebox gifts now on their way to children in Albania.

The Offaly appeal was part of Team Hope’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal, an annual campaign that delivers gifts straight into the hands of children affected by poverty.

Often these shoebox gifts are the only gift that a child will receive at Christmas and the joy that they bring is incredible. Since 2010, Team Hope have delivered over 2.8 million Shoebox gifts to vulnerable children across the world.

Organisers expressed heartfelt thanks to every child and adult who donated a shoebox, as well as to the playschools, schools and shops that served as collection points throughout the county.

Volunteers who gathered, checked and packed the donations were also praised for their time and commitment.

In addition to the shoeboxes themselves, many supporters contributed funds for additional fillers, while others donated beautifully crafted items, some handmade, ensuring each box was both thoughtful and personal.

The appeal organisers also acknowledged the continued support of Ravenhill Warehousing and Logistics, which provided a warm and clean workspace for volunteers for the second year running.

With this year’s effort complete, the Offaly Christmas Shoebox Appeal extended warm wishes for a happy and peaceful Christmas, and promised to be back again next year.
