International volunteer day celebrated at Mountlucas
Members of the weekly Mountlucas Park Run gathered together earlier this week to mark International Volunteer Day.
The Mountlucas Park Run, which takes place each week from the Bord na Mona windfarm (Ballycon, Co Offaly), relies on the great support and dedication of a large group of volunteers, whose commitment to the group ensures that the run can proceed successfully every Saturday morning.
The Mountlucas Park Run is always open to newcomers and requires no prior running experience to join in the fun. They also have lots of roles to choose from, in terms of helping with the races, and someone will always show new volunteers what to do on the day.
The team at Mountlucas parkrun shared a heartfelt thanks this week to everyone who has volunteered in 2025, saying that there would be no Mountlucas Park Run without its amazing volunteers.
Mountlucas Park Run takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp.
There's something for everyone whether people want to walk, run, volunteer or just meet new people, where as well as a timed run people like to promote the importance of community, inclusivity, and well-being.
Every event at Mountlucas brings together people of all ages and abilities to create a warm and encouraging atmosphere. Whether you’re walking your first 5km or picking up your 50th, Mountlucas Park Run offers something for everyone.
