Clendennen welcomes funding for Offaly farmers in 2025
Significant funding worth €50,251,114.74 was issued to Offaly farmers during 2025, Fine Gael TD John Clendennen has said.
The funding "supported communities and families" throughout the year, the Deputy stating that the Government "remained committed to rural communities in Offaly.
"These payments are real support for families which are delivered at scale. Fine Gael will continue to prioritise farmers because their work is the backbone of our economy.
"This level of investment reflects Fine Gael’s belief in supporting enterprise, hard work and rural life.
“Farmers in Offaly contribute enormously to Ireland’s economic success and these payments reaffirm a commitment to ensuring they have the resources to continue to produce world-class food," Deputy Clendennen added.
Echoing the words of Deputy Clendennen, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon said the payments, amounting to €2.18 billion nationally in 2025, "provide vital supports for our farmers and fishers, in turn supporting rural and coastal communities, underpinning the economic benefits accruing to the Irish economy from the activities of the agriculture and marine sectors".
“I am accordingly very pleased to announce the breadth of payments made by my Department throughout 2025. We will continue to work to issue payments as quickly as possible where they are still due, and I would ask farmers who have outstanding queries to respond to these as soon as possible," Minister Heydon concluded.
