Gardaí investigating the deaths of a four year old boy and his grand-aunt in an arson attack in Edenderry have issued an appeal in relation to a car that was used to transport two males from the scene on December 6 last, and was later found burned out in county Kildare.

The boy, Tadhg Farrell and 60-year-old grand-aunt, Mary Holt died at a house in Castleview Park in Edenderry when a suspected petrol bomb was thrown through the front window of the property.

An Garda Síochána is continuing to investigate all the circumstances of the fatal house fire, with their investigations into the double murder being coordinated from an incident room at Tullamore Garda Station under the direction of a Senior Investigating Officer.

In an appeal issued today, Gardai are seeking any information on a Black Kia Rio Saloon car, registration number 08-D-24363, which was recovered burnt out at Tipper East, Naas, Co Kildare in the early hours of December 7.
