Offaly students take major award at Young Scientists
Two Offaly students have taken a major prize at the Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition.
Killian Dromey and Rachel Carroll of Tullamore College won first place in the Health & Wellbeing Group, Junior Section at the exhibition, for their project 'The Infection Detector: How Cabbage Juice Tracks Infections Using a Natural pH Indicator'.
Hailing the students local TD Tony McCormack said: "This outstanding achievement is a real credit to Killian and Rachel for their hard work, innovation and commitment, and also to their teachers and the wider school community for the support and encouragement provided throughout.
"Well done to you both on this fantastic national success, Offaly is very proud of you, and I wish you every success in the future," he added.
