Tullamore's Tolü tops Dancing With The Star week two leaderboard

Tullamore's Tolü Makay has soared to the top of the Dancing Witrh The Stars leaderboard on week two of the popular dance competition.

The musician and her pro partner Maciej Zięba danced an American Smooth to radio hit 'Man I Need' by Olivia Dean, scoring 32 points.

The pair got the first 9 of the season, marking a milestone moment for the Tullamore native.

"I am so so so proud of us, I’m still in disbelief," Tolü wrote. "Hoping to bring this energy and more into week 3!"

For the first time in the nine-year history of Dancing with the Stars, the first elimination took place in Week Two rather than Week Three.

Comedian and actor Michael Fry became the first celebrity to be eliminated from the competition.

Alongside pro dancer Kylee Vincent, Michael received the lowest combined total from judges’ scores and public votes.

Michael said: “I had the best time, and I was really scared, but I wanted to do it and I did it scared.”

Next week is the much-anticipated Movie Week special airing on Sunday 18 January from 6:30pm on RTÉ One.
