Tullamore Rugby Club receives donation towards development plans
Tullamore Rugby Club has received a major financial boost to its development plans with a €30,000 donation from sustainable energy companies Lumcloon Power Ltd and Shannonbridge Power Ltd.
This funding will support the club’s expanding rugby campus and pitch development project and contribute to the continued success of the 500 Club initiative.
In October 2024, the club announced ambitious redevelopment plans which will see their home grounds at Spollanstown expand to include four full size rugby pitches and a 1.5km community walkway.
This investment arrives at a key time for Tullamore Rugby Club, and will help to advance the multi-phase development programme focused on upgrading pitches, improving training facilities, and creating a modern, sustainable sporting campus for players, coaches, and the wider community.
“Tullamore Rugby Club is a cornerstone of the local sporting community, and we’re proud to play a part in helping them realise their development ambitions. The club’s passion, commitment, and drive to create top-class facilities for young people and adults alike makes it a great cause to support," Sharon Reams, Director of Lumcloon Energy, said.
Jimmy Martin, President of the Tullamore Rugby Club described the contribution as “a hugely significant boost to our long-term vision for the club and for the wider community we serve".
"This generous support will help us continue developing our pitches and facilities while ensuring the club remains an inclusive, welcoming hub for players, volunteers, families, and supporters. We are extremely grateful to Lumcloon Power Ltd and Shannonbridge Power Ltd for their commitment to community sport and to the future of Tullamore Rugby Club," Mr Martin added.
Lumcloon Power Ltd and Shannonbridge Power Ltd expressed their happiness in supporting local organisations that promote participation, teamwork, and community wellbeing.
The companies also recognised Tullamore Rugby Club’s long-standing tradition in youth and adult rugby and its valued role as a central sporting hub in the community.
