€1,183 donated to Jigsaw by students from Tullamore schools
The Laois/Offaly branch of youth mental health service, Jigsaw, was the recipient of a cheque for €1,183, thanks to the generosity of students from two Tullamore secondary schools, Coláiste Choilm and the Sacred Heart.
Representatives from the Student Councils of both schools handed over the generous donation to Deirdre Little, Service Manager of Jigsaw, which provides free therapy and expert mental health support to children and young adults in Laois and Offaly from its offices in Tullamore.
The donation was raised as a result of a Christmas Jumper Day, and students and teachers in both the Sacred Heart and Coláiste Choilm were commended for what was described in a post on the Sacred Heart Facebook page as “a lovely moment of collaboration and community spirit.”
The school said it was so proud of the students for “coming together with such generosity, leadership and compassion.”
