Dunne shines in Boston as Corrigan records two PBs

James Dunne delivered a top-class pacing performance at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on Saturday last, proudly leading the Irish charge alongside international athletes on the world stage.

Ballycommon native James was on pacing duty for the Senior Men’s 3000m, setting up a superb race where Andrew Coscoran stormed to second place in 7:30.97. Nick Griggs finished fourth in 7:32.79 - taking a huge chunk off his own Irish U23 record - and Brian Fay placed tenth in 7:42.58.

Dunne's performance comes hot on the heels of him recently signing a professional contract with New Balance, joining the Team New Balance group based in Manchester, UK. A proud night for Irish athletics.

Meanwhile, Billy Corrigan had a flying start to his indoor season with two PBs at the Scottish National Senior Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday last.

Billy clocked 22.65 in the 200m semi-final to book his place in the final and followed it up with a strong showing in the 60m. Here he finished 5th in his heat before smashing another PB of 7.17 in the semi-final.
