TY students at Kilcormac school perform to sold-out crowds
Students from Coláiste Naomh Cormac in Co. Offaly recently presented this year's school musical, as its Transition Year pupils performed 'Annie' to packed audiences over three successful nights (see this week's print edition of the Offaly Independent for photos).
Set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression, the production told the inspiring story of a young orphan whose determination, kindness and optimism captured the hearts of all who attended.
Featuring well-known songs such as 'Tomorrow' and 'It’s the Hard Knock Life', the musical provided an entertaining and uplifting experience for audiences of all ages and was met with an overwhelmingly positive response.
Students were involved in every aspect of the production, from outstanding performances on stage and energetic choreography to the impressive work behind the scenes on sets, lighting and costumes.
The success of the show was made possible through the dedication and commitment of staff who gave countless hours to support and guide the students throughout the process.
In particular, Ms Meagher and Ms Browne played a vital role in bringing the production to life, and their hard work, encouragement and leadership were greatly appreciated by both students and audiences alike.
Performances took place in Coláiste Naomh Cormac, with each night showcasing the exceptional talent, teamwork and effort of the Transition Year group and resulting in a hugely successful and memorable production.
