Tolu Makay honours sister for Dedication Week on DWTS

Tullamore star Tolu Makay honoured her 'best friend' and sister Timmy for Dedication Week on Dancing With The Stars.

Dedicated Dance Week was one full of memories, tears, and smiles as the celebrities honoured the people who have made an impact on their lives.

Because it was such a personal show, no contestant was eliminated this week.

Tolu and her pro partner Maciej Zięba were the first couple to grace the stage, as the duo danced a Foxtrot to 'When We Were Young' by Adele.

The pair achieved a score of 32 points for their performance, which judges hailed as "mesmerising" and "filled with joy".

"This dance is for my sister and my siblings," Tolu said.

"There’s something powerful about sharing moments like this with people who have known you in every season before the dreams, during the struggle, and now.

"I’m so proud of my family. Of where we come from, where we are, and everything we’ve carried to get here."

Tolu encouraged others to 'dream and keep choosing a life of freedom', adding that she wants others who grew up like her to know that 'this life is possible'.

"Look at me… dancing on Dancing with the Stars. Please dream. Please live."

Dancing with the Stars airs on Sundays at 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
