Expert to lead practical AI session at Tullamore Toastmasters' open meeting

Tullamore Toastmasters will host an open meeting on Thursday, February 12, at 8pm in Fergie's Bar and Lounge, featuring AI expert Michael McCann.

McCann, a seasoned IT professional and AI strategist with experience across sectors including investment banking and energy, will lead a 45-minute session exploring practical AI applications for communication and leadership.

He will provide a plain-language introduction to AI, and run an interactive AI-powered Table Topics session to show how technology can boost creativity and confidence in impromptu speaking.

He will give a live demo of a Toastmasters Meeting Assistant, which will show how AI can help create agendas, generate Table Topics questions, and guide feedback, with a focus on responsible use.

The session will conclude with a look at emerging AI developments and the continued importance of human skills like storytelling, ethics, and critical thinking.

The event is open to members, prospective members, and anyone interested in AI and communication skills. Attendees are invited to stay afterward to meet McCann and Tullamore Toastmasters members.
