Poetry returns to Esker Arts on Friday
Esker Sessions returns this Friday, February 13, at 8pm, for Volume VII with Annemarie Ní Churreáin and Geraldine O’Neill.
Esker Sessions is presented in association with Poetry Ireland.
Annemarie Ní Churreáin is a poet from the Donegal Gaeltacht. Her books include Bloodroot (Doire Press, 2017), The Poison Glen (The Gallery Press, 2021) and Hymn to All the Restless Girls (The Gallery Press, 2025). Her awards include the Arts Council’s Next Generation Artist Award and The Markievicz Award. She is the 2025 UCD/Arts Council Writer in Residence. Ní Churreáin is the poetry editor at The Stinging Fly Magazine.
Geraldine O’Neill was born in Scotland and has lived in Daingean, Offaly, since 1991.
She is an Internationally published author of 16 novels, numerous short stories and poetry. She has also been a regular feature writer for well-known newspapers and magazines.
Although widely known for her fiction, Geraldine has continued to write poetry throughout her career. Her work has been published in various anthologies, including Snow in Summer, which was the culmination of a cross-border poetry project.
