Banagher community unites in honour of Padraig Horan

Reminiscence was the theme in Banagher College on Friday night as the community united to celebrate St Rynagh's and Offaly hurler Padraig Horan following his appearance on TG4's Laochra Gael documentary series.

The former Banagher College teacher was the first player to captain an Offaly hurling team to win an All-Ireland senior title in 1981 was the focal point for the most recent episode to be aired on TG4 with family members, former team mates and opponents recalling the life of the former Faithful County full forward.

In what was a proud night for St Rynagh's GAA, the celebratory evening saw memories shared and moments that shaped the club’s history, as the Liam McCarthy Cup made the short trip from Tipperary to mark the occasion.
