Gemini Players bring night of music and laughter to Edenderry this Friday
Edenderry is set for a night of laughter, music and top-class entertainment as they welcome Mountmellick Capers team to take their award winning show and other Edenderry acts to the stage this Friday in St Patrick’s Primary School.
The night is a fundraising event for the local Edenderry drama group, Gemini Players.
Mountmellick Capers are proud members of Macra na Feirme, the nationwide organisation that hosts the hugely popular Capers variety show competition. Last year, Mountmellick claimed the coveted All-Ireland Capers Trophy, cementing their reputation as one of the best variety groups in the country. This year they came in third.
Mountmellick will present their brand-new, hilarious show “Wicked Ways and Hotel Stays” promising plenty of laughs and surprises.
The night also features an entertaining mix of performers, including The Odd Boys Comedy Troupe, who are known for turning up unexpectedly, telling tall tales and interrupting proceedings—men in white coats and straightjackets will be standing by, if they can catch them.
Music lovers will enjoy The Usual Suspects, a one-night-only appearance by a group who may never have sung on stage before, but will certainly charm the audience with heartfelt songs, just like a late-night pub sing-song.
Adding to the fun are The Geriatric Trio, making a much-anticipated comeback. Famous for their hit “Get Off the Fireplace Granny, You’re Too Old to Be Riding the Range” and their legendary pigeon release in Trafalgar Square, they were old then—and they’re older now.
Also appearing on the night are Eden School of Music and languages and Retox dance group.
The show begins at 8.30pm, with doors opening at 8:00pm—and there may even be a complimentary cup of tea for those who clap the loudest. A great night of entertainment is guaranteed for all.
