Iarnród Éireann opens apprenticeship programme for 2026
Iarnród Éireann has announced the launch of its 2026 Apprenticeship Programme, offering young people the opportunity to begin a career at the centre of Ireland’s national rail network.
The programme will recruit apprentices across four trades: Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Fitter, Electrician, and Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) Engineering Technician.
Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience while earning and learning within one of the country’s most important public transport services.
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age on or before Tuesday, September 1. Applications close on Sunday, 15 March, with placements commencing in September 2026.
