Birr artist Mark Lyndon will host a pre-release performance for upcoming debut album 'Silhouettes' at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre.

Lyndon's debut album is a collection of original folk music based on stories collected in the Blackwater Valley.

The performance comes as a part of an event titled Film & Folk taking place at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre on Friday, March 13, at 8pm.

The event will also feature screenings of fellow Birr man Nicky Larkin's films, the IFTA-nominated short 'PUNT' and 'Sumoland', a documentary following Irish sumo legend John Gunning.

Music from the folk singer-songwriter's upcoming album also featured as part of PUNT.
