Sixteen Offaly award winners at Irish Restaurant Awards Leinster final

Sixteen different restaurants and food businesses in Offaly were honoured at the Leinster Region of the Irish Restaurant Awards last night.

The coveted Best Restaurant Award for Offaly went to The Blue Apron Restaurant, which also won the Best Wine Experience category at the ceremony in The Killashee Hotel, Co. Kildare.

There was also a double for the Old Warehouse in Tullamore, with Anthony O’Connor winning the best chef award, and the business being chosen as the winner of The Best Contemporary Irish Cuisine Award.

Among the other award winners in Offaly were Hennessy’s in Ferbane (Best Gastro Pub) and Sanjay’s Kitchen in Birr (Best World Cuisine)

Margaret Edgill, Mount Briscoe Organic Farm, was selected as the Local Food Hero winner for Offaly, while the Ballycommon Bake House and Ballycommon Self Catering Apartments won the Innovator of the Year Award.
