Silver for Ferbane AC’s Laura at National Championships

Ferbane AC's Laura Dolan won a silver medal in the 123.ie National Senior Indoor Championships last weekend.

Competing in the Senior Women’s Weight for Distance (28lbs) event, Laura's third throw, a staggering 6.46 metres, took second place and into the national roll of honour.

Extending congratulations to Laura on her achievement, Ferbane AC descried her as “our serial field events champion”, saying her performance ensured the club was not going to be left behind among the “pantheon of greats" competing in the championships.

“For many years now Laura has been excelling at a county, provincial and national level and the club is truly proud of her efforts. Well done Laura and best wishes for your future endeavours,” said Ferbane AC.

The gold medal in the women's weight for distance event was won by Kotryna Pacerinskaite (Fanahan McSweeney AC), with Laura claiming the silver ahead of bronze medal winner Bridget McDyer of Finn Valley AC.

The championships were held at the National Indoor Arena on the Sport Ireland Campus in Abbotstown, Dublin.
