Applications now open for 'Heart of the Community' grants
The Ireland Funds, the global philanthropic network, is now accepting applications for funding from non -profit organisations in Offaly and across Ireland under their Heart of the Community 2026 grant scheme.
Three organisations in Offaly were among the recipients of grants from The Ireland Funds last year, including Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service, Accessible Counselling Tullamore (ACT) and Midlands Science.
The Heart of the Community Fund will this year offer $1,000,000 in grants to support non-profits delivering vital services across the Island of Ireland, with the application window open until Friday of next week, March 20. Grants of between €5,000 to €25,000 will be awarded.
The first of two targeted rounds of funding under the scheme will prioritise organisations that provide access to education and learning across all age levels, and organisations utilising innovative solutions to address new or existing problems.
Caitriona Fottrell, President and CEO of The Ireland Funds, said The 'Heart of the Community Fund reflects commitment to being "both responsive and strategic" in how they support communities across the island of Ireland. "Our aim is to provide flexible funding where it is needed most" she said, adding that it would not be possible to provide the funding without the "continued generosity of our donors.”
Through the Heart of the Community Fund 2025, grants were awarded to 104 organisations on the island of Ireland under the four pillars of support for Arts & Culture, Community Development, Education and Peace & Reconciliation.
Round two will open in September 2026 and will focus on Arts and Culture organisations.
