"Welcome home our star girl": Tullamore College to welcome Tolü Makay tomorrow
Tullamore College will welcome home Dancing With The Stars contestant Tolü Makay tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10am.
The local school, which Tolü attended during her teen years, will host the homecoming to rally votes for the local singer-songwriter, as she prepares for the final of the popular dance show.
Tolü has received huge support from the Tullamore community throughout the competition, with Offaly County Council taking the opportunity to celebrate her success on International Women's Day.
"[We're] cheering especially loud for one of Offaly’s finest Tolü Makay as she takes to the DWTS IRL semi‑final stage! Tolü has delivered standout performances all season, including a perfect score.
"On a day dedicated to strong, inspiring women, Tolü embodies confidence, creativity, and resilience. Let’s get behind her."
The LOETB also shared their support for Tolü, noting the "strong LOETB connections" on this year's show.
"We are so proud to see such strong LOETB connections among this year’s Dancing with the Stars contenders. Best of luck to Tolü Makay, past student of Tullamore College, and her partner Maciej Zięba."
Tolü has said that making it to the final has been "a huge highlight to my year".
"We made it to the finals of Dancing With The Stars. This is the last week and we will keep pushing," Tolu said.
"This has been a huge highlight to my year and I’m so happy I said yes! Thank you all so much for your continued support."
