'Connecting for Wellbeing' event in Tullamore next week
Offaly Local Development Company is to host a special information event in Tullamore next week to mark Social ‘Social Prescribing Day’.
The Social Prescribing service helps to connect people with community activities, groups and supports and is geared towards those aged 18 years and over who feel isolated, lonely, in need of some support to make social links or get more involved in their community.
Next week's information event, called 'Connecting for Wellbeing' takes place from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, March 25, in Tullsmore's Charleville Centre (R35 H660) and will showcase groups, activities and supports in the community while also giving people an opportunity to try some activities.
Among those taking part will be the Chorus Connection Community Choir and Offaly Music Generation Ukulele Choir, both of who will provide musical entertainment, and there will also be opportunities for attendees to take part in some gentle exercise, art and creativity sessions, or try their hand at some ukulele playing.
Everyone is welcome to attend and light refreshments will be available. Contact Michelle on 087 7470562 for further information.
Offaly’s Social prescribing Service is funded by HSE, with support from the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP).
