O'Brien welcomes commitment to enhance hospital entrance
Independent Councillor Sean O'Brien has said he has received a commitment from management at the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore to enhance the main entrance to the hospital with a planned cleaning process.
"I had received complaints about the main entrance to the hospital as people felt that it needed an overhaul. I put down a question for the recent Dublin Mid-Leinster HSE Forum and I received a written response from management. This will mean that the entrance will be thoroughly cleaned and will present much better," stated Cllr O'Brien.
The written response from the hospital management explained that a member of the maintenance team is assigned each day to clean the area around the main entrance and empty external bins as part of their routine duties.
It added that it is in the process of tendering for a new window cleaning contract. As part of the tender specification, all glazing at the front entrance facade, including the main entrance canopy, has been included. Contractors are expected to be on site in early April, starting work at the main entrance area.
It also said that arrangements have been made for maintenance staff to power wash the front entrance area within the next two weeks to further enhance cleanliness and appearance.
