Exciting Offaly athletes to be honoured at prestigious awards' ceremony

Two rising Offaly athletes are set to be honoured for their excellence at the Athletics Ireland 2025 Juvenile Star Awards this weekend.

Cian Crampton, of Edenderry Athletics Club, and Alisha Maher (Tullamore Harriers AC) will both be honoured when the awards take place at Mullingar Park Hotel, Westmeath on Saturday, April 18 (12.30pm).

Maher, who will receive the Offaly County Star Award, is a native of Ballyboy, while Crampton hails from Edenderry.

Crampton threw a personal best of 59.32m in the discus event to win a bronze medal for Team Ireland on the final day of competition at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Slovenia last year. Offaly Athletics have described both as brilliant athletes and described the awards as deserved for their ongling success. Both athletes will receive their awards on Saturday, and Crampton will also be among 13 nominees in contention for an overall Special Award.
