Mid-afternoon start for Lowry at US Masters

Shane Lowry starts his quest for a second golf major title when he tees off at the US Masters in Augusta this afternoon at 2.43pm (Irish time).

The Clara golfer is part of an eye-catching three ball alongside US golfer Dustin Johnson and Australian player, Jason Day.

Lowry will be hoping to follow the path of 2025 winner Rory McIlroy and don the famous green jacket on Sunday evening to claim his first major golfing honour in the US.

Lowry's previous best finish in the US Masters came in 2022 when he tied for third place.

Meanwhile, reigning champion Rory McIlroy has been paired with Players champion Cameron Young and 2025 US Amateur winner Mason Howell for a 3.31pm (Irish time) start today (Thursday).
