No injuries reported as car catches fire outside Tullamore
The occupants of a car in Tullamore are understood to have had a lucky escape on Tuesday evening after the vehicle caught fire near the Mucklagh roundabout.
The incident happened at approximately 5pm on Tuesday, and one witness told the Offaly Independent that the car was "engulfed in flames within seconds".
It's believed that a woman and some young children who had been in the car evacuated the vehicle, and that the emergency services were at the scene within a short time.
A spokesperson for the Garda press office said: "Gardaí assisted fire services at a the scene of a fire of a vehicle in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, at approximately 5pm on Wednesday, April 7."
The spokesperson added that no injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.
