Planning sought for 18 home Bracknagh development

A planning application has been lodged with Offaly County Council seeking planning permission for total of 18 new housing units in Bracknagh.

Kildare-based company Thoval Properties Limited has submitted plans to the local authority for a proposed mix of residential units, sixteen of which would be three-bedroom properties, while the two remaining units will be two-bedroom properties.

The planning permission documents submitted to Offaly County Council state that the "high-quality residential development" is proposed for the centre of Bracknagh "to meet the housing needs of the growing population" in the area.

"The proposed site is zoned for residential purposes and is ripe for development to deliver a high-quality attractive development, with new streetscapes, simple rural style detailing and quality layouts to meet the needs of young growing families," the planning applicants stated. Thoval Properties Limited said that the site would be "connected to the town core via existing footpaths" and by a "linking pathway within the proposed development" with "car parking provided at a rate of two spaces per house".

Also detailed within the planning submission are proposals to have "large back gardens for each unit" with a "new central green providing for public open space".

The plans also propose the demolition of an existing two storey house on the development site, with connection to the local mains sewer, landscaping, boundary walls, bin/bike storage and all associated site development works also detailed in the application.
