Gas Networks Ireland seeking apprentices
Gas Networks Ireland are seeking new apprentices to join their 2026 Apprenticeship Programme which starts this October.
For those interested, opportunities are available in a range of sectors, including plumbing and electrical instrumentations and maintenance fitting.
For apprentices, Gas Networks Ireland is offering an opportunity to work on their national gas network.
Their network delivers around 30% of the country’s total energy, along with 40% of our electricity generation.
The apprenticeship programme lasts four years aims to provide mentor led learning, which combines on the job training with formal education.
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will be awarded a QQI Advanced Level 6 Certificate, which is recognised internationally as a craftsperson qualification.
Nicola McSweeney, Director of People at Gas Networks Ireland said: “We are very proud of our Apprenticeship Programme, and I am delighted to open our application process for our 2026 intake.
“With the Leaving Certificate just around the corner, many young people across Ireland are beginning to think seriously about their future career paths.
“Apprenticeships like ours offer a valuable alternative route - one that combines hands-on experience with learning and opens the door to a rewarding long-term career. These apprentices will join Gas Networks Ireland at an exciting, and transformative, time for both our company and the wider energy sector.”
