Do you have what it takes to be a rock star?

Budding rock stars in Offaly are being given the opportunity to kick-start their musical journey by joining the various 'Midland Rocks Teen Hubs' set up across the county.

Every week, three venues in the county will host the Hubs, where interested parties can simply go along with their instruments of choice (for free) and have an opportunity to mingle and perform with fellow musicians with a view to potentially setting up rock bands.

The Hubs have been set up by the Laois/Offaly Education & Training Board (LOETB) with the assistance of several other local agencies including Offaly County Council, The Academy of Music and Offaly Art Office.

For teenagers interested in taking part, the first Hub of every week will be held at St Brendan's Community School, Birr each Wednesday (4.15pm), followed by the Hub at St Mary's Primary School, Edenderry every Friday (4pm). The final Hub of the week will take place at The Academy of Music, Tullamore each Saturday (2.30pm). For enquiries, contact mgo@loetb.ie
