Man (22) appears in court in connection with fatal Edenderry fire
A man in his 20s has been remanded in custody after appearing in court this evening on charges in connection with a fatal house fire in Edenderry,
22-year-old Michael Dunne with an address in Co Kildare appeared before a special sitting of Tullamore District Court, charged with criminal damage by arson and with endangerment on December 6 last.
Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given by Detective Garda Tom Dunne
He told the court that at 1:08pm this afternoon, he charged Michael Dunne with two offences.
Judge Andrew Cody granted reporting restrictions on the publication of the accused's address.
There was no application for bail and Michael Dunne was remanded in custody, to appear before Tullamore District Court on May 6 by video-link.
Mary Holt (60) and her grand nephew Tadgh Farrell (4) lost their lives in a fire at a house in Castleview Park, Edenderry, on December 6.
