National recognition for Tullamore College second-year students

Three students from Tullamore College are celebrating after their sports project received a coveted prize at a renowned secondary school awards ceremony in Dublin.

Second-year pupils Mary B Scanlon, Nora Flynn and Rachel Carroll's project was called 'One Sport Wonder: The Pressure to Specialise', and received an award as winners of the Women in Sport section of the Physical Education category at the PEXpo Project Competition.

Their project will also be featured in the Sports Ireland 'Her Moves' campaign. The school took to social media to congratulate the students on the achievement and their teacher, Ms Howlin.

PEXpo is an interactive physical education and sport-focused showcase event designed for secondary school students, educators, and the wider physical activity community.

The event encourages students to explore physical education topics through research, innovation, and hands-on experiences.
