All-Ireland winning Ferbane debate team receive warm welcome to Dáil Éireann

The All-Ireland winning debate team from Gallen Community School in Ferbane received a warm welcome during a recent visit to Dáil Éireann.

Gallen Community School's Senior Debate Team won the All-Ireland ACCS Debate Final in March of this year guided by Ms. Keyes and Mr. Deery.

Students James Keeney, Caitlyn Jackson, Aideen Flynn, Ava Murray, Grace Fallon and Kate Zulge successfully opposed the motion ‘This House believes that social media should be regulated more aggressively’ against Bóthar Buí.

Offaly TD John Clendennen facilitated the team's visit to the Dáil, with Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy TD welcoming the students.

The team received a tour of Leinster House and had the opportunity to observe proceedings during Leaders’ Questions in the Dáil.
